Endless Adventures
Nestled at the head of the Knapdale peninsula in Argyll on the west coast of Scotland, the Tayvallich peninsula is the outermost finger of land between the mainland and the Inner Hebrides of Jura and Islay. Set in some of the most geologically and ecologically important landscapes in Scotland, it runs southwest for about 15 miles from Crinan in the North to Danna Island in the south, where Loch Sween meets the Atlantic Ocean in the Sound of Jura.
The area abounds with important historical and cultural sites, from nearby Kilmartin Glen (the most important concentration of Bronze Age and Neolithic monuments in mainland Scotland) and the 11th century Keills Chapel on Tayvallich peninsula itself to the clearance village of Arichonan.
The distinctive ridges, valleys and forests of Knapdale are a biodiversity hotspot and more recently famous as one of the main locations for the reintroduction of beavers.
Whether you are looking for art, nature and photography, history, local food or outdoor pursuits such as kayaking, fishing and walking, explore the below to sample the wide variety of the local area.

Argyll has one of the highest concentrations of artists anywhere in Scotland. With expansive coastlines and so many Islands, it’s no wonder people gravitate here to find inspiration in its inspiring and historic landscapes. Only 10 mins from the Coshandrochaid house, stands Keills Chapel and Keills Cross. The Keills Cross, a free-standing high cross dating to the 8th century AD is an excellent example of fine ancient stone craftsmanship and is the only example of its type on the mainland.
Kilmartin Glen, 30 mins drive away, is one of Britain’s richest prehistoric landscapes, featuring over 800 ancient monuments, including Neolithic cup-and-ring rock art, Bronze Age cairns (such as the linear cemetery), standing stones, and the early medieval Dunadd Fort, believed to be the royal center of the ancient kingdom of Dál Riata
